Taller MRD and DFArquitectos collaborate to revitalize the Santa María Petapa market in Oaxaca, Mexico, offering it a new opportunity after the devastating earthquake of 2017. Established by the Urban Improvement Program (PMU) and headed by the Secretariat of Agrarian and Territorial Development and Urban (SEDATU), this project had as its main objective the unification and integration of a previously urban and socially fractured space. Mike Edwards Architecture were commissioned for a full architectural service for this project. This two storey, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home has generous sized rooms including a large upper floor retreat and terrace with views to Perth city skyline to the north. The north facing yard includes a retained existing swimming pool, lawn area and landscaping. A large modern open plan kitchen, living, dining area opens on to a covered patio. Located on the Lower Campus of the recently established University of Mpumalanga, LHA+UD’s new student residence and dining facility defines the southern boundary of the university. Project preschool Lärkgatan in south Swedish county of Bjuv aims for a building with strong connections to local brick building traditions.  The site is part of an old mill community, and the building will speak the language of local tradition. With brick as a characteristic building material for this region, it turned out to be the natural material of choice. We have also focused on highlighting the county´s  tile manufacturing heritage, expressed in the use of locally connected CC Höganäs tiles in the building´s bathrooms. The No.27 residential building is located in 1st district in west of Isfahan. It is constructed on an area of 420 square meters and with subtraction of 1256 square meters in 5 floors. This residential complex in belongs to a family intending to construct a building instead of their paternal house where the family’s grand mother lived before. They want to construct this building that would allow all members of the family to live with their grandmother like the past time. This 9-story, mixed-use building re-animates the abandoned corner of Sixth and Howard streets with 67 affordable family apartments, including 14 units for developmentally disabled adults. The housing units sit over restaurant/retail and community space at the ground floor.To resonate with the rhythms of the surrounding historic district, the design begins with a double-height commercial space above which the building breaks into two brick-clad volumes, the taller marks the intersection as a tower; the other steps down with a roof terrace. Today, the attention of the architects in the city is more focused on the wealthy areas and there is a lack of innovative projects in such poor areas. The site context’s situation is in decline, and architecture is being oblivious, which has affected the city fabric structure and visual aspect of the region. The new 7,500sf project transformed a former municipal parking lot into the new civic and cultural heart of historic Auburn, NY, home of Harriet Tubman. Internal remodelling, interior design and rear extension to a family home in London Borough of Sutton We were asked to look at an existing house, which had various extensions added at different times and mismatching alterations. This resulted in a maze of internal spaces and meant that family interaction was disjointed. We proposed a scheme to open up and extend the ground floor into the south-facing garden.
