Holcim and partners launch Phoenix, a pioneering and circular 3D printed concrete bridge

The footbridge, which is situated in the city’s recreation area, connects the river’s left bank with the island of Bölesholmarna and links up to a small bridge bridging the arm of the river. The footbridge connects pedestrian and cyclist trails situated along both river's banks; it also carries electrical and communication cables. New York Financial Bridge

Our primary goal in the NEW YORK BRIDGE project was to answer the need for more open and green spaces in the compact living and working areas in Manhattan’s financial district and the world-famous Wall Street. To achieve this, we at Kalbod Design Studio designed a suspended bridge that connects the financial district of Manhattan with the green areas of New Jersey above the Huston River while creating a magnificent view of the Statue of Liberty on the North Atlantic Ocean. HAVER Architekturgewebe bietet Sicherheit und Schutz bei gleichzeitiger visueller Transparenz an der Fußgängerbrücke des Bahnhofs im französischen Agen. Im Rahmen der barrierefreien Umgestaltung des Bahnhofs entwarfen die Architekten von AREP eine neue Metallbrücke, die die Bahnsteige der Gleise 1 und 2 miteinander verbindet. Trafalgar footbridge

We illuminated a bridge with a unique charm that made it stand out. The colored line lights perfectly outline the structure of the whole bridge. This, in turn, causes the lights to be mapped on the water, resulting in a combination that doesn’t go unnoticed. The chasing lights give vitality to the bridge and enhance its prominence. Mehr

New office building in Antwerp takes the form of an urban bridge

In Antwerp, the new 146_Province Headquarters by XDGA (Xaveer De Geyter Architects) is a new build replacing a former complex of modernist volumes that could not adapt to current sustainability standards. A compact sculptural volume with defined triangular openings, the building is conceived as a bridge-like structure over a glazed central pavilion.   Credit: XDGA - Matthias Van Rossen The centre of the main building features one large steel truss spanning from one core to the other. Dulles Corridor Metrorail Walkways

The new Dulles Corridor Metrorail Silver Line has significantly reduced the commute time between Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia. In the first phase of the project, a direct route runs from Washington, D.C. to Tysons Corner, but will be eventually expanded to run all the way to Dulles International Airport. In addition to the new line, pedestrian bridges featuring more than 60,000-square-feet of Banker Wire woven wire mesh were also created and interspersed throughout the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Silver Line. The pedestrian bridges, with Banker Wire woven wire mesh, connect metro stations to parking lots – helping commuters cross busy roads more safely.
