Louvre Abu Dhabi
Der mit dem Pritzker-Preis ausgezeichnete Architekt Jean Nouvel suchte Inspiration für das Konzept des Louvre Abu Dhabi in der traditionellen arabischen Architekturkultur und entwarf den Louvre Abu Dhabi als "Museumsstadt" am Meer. Seine kontrastreiche Reihe weißer Gebäude ist von der Medina und den niedrig gelegenen arabischen Siedlungen inspiriert. Insgesamt 55 einzelne, aber miteinander verbundene Gebäude, darunter 26 Galerien, bilden diese Museumsstadt. Die Fassaden der Gebäude bestehen aus 3.900 Platten aus ultrahochfestem Faserbeton (UHPC).
