Villa La Pineta is a redevelopment project for a residential building in Versilia, which stands out thanks to its innovative aesthetics and functionality. The design features three main parallel sections that define the internal spaces, while the perimeter closures are made of glass to enhance the brightness and airy appearance of the rooms. The site is a hide away, embraced by the Aravali Range with its greenery punctuated by quarried Rock, Kota village and the ITC golf course.The client being a golf enthusiast and having farming as a hobby, desired to use the place as a weekend getaway from his city life. Client’s brief was to create a farmhouse which would merge with its surroundings. Finishes were to have minimum required maintenance as the place would be used only once in a week. The building that was designed by Tel-Aviv based Golany Architects serves people who experience disabilities. Therefore, providing accessibility was essential and indispensable. Accordingly, strict measures were employed, in order to cater for people with special needs, including wheelchair users. Inclusive design approach was implemented, so as to create an environment suiting all.
