The atrium's imposing roof structure, designed as a support grid with a roof area of over 1,500 square metres, is a mixed construction consisting of a timber-steel framework from a structural point of view. The main girders of the 2-axis load-bearing timber-steel truss have a maximum length of 40 metres. The compression chords used in the truss construction were designed as glulam beams of strength class GL 32 h and are additionally joined at the nodes and connected to the adjacent steel construction by multi-cut bar dowel connections.
