The commission is about the intervention of a house located in a profusely wooded land in the north part of the city of Guadalajara, inside a zone that maintains a considerable environmental quality. The house is located in the highest part of the plot and its walls are constructed with adobe. Based on this analysis we obtained two basic ideas that attempt to enhance the conditions founded; to build walls on the boundaries of the plot that allow to understand the house as resting on a base to which it is necessary to ascend. These walls also define a stairway that leads through little gardens and platforms until reaching the porch. As a contrast to a dense walls structure, we decided to place an addition with a lighter character that allows to read the preexistences of the site and to build a new space in full relationship with the vegetation of the place. Therefore, there is a connection between an existing stereotomic structure with a new tectonic addition through a plinth. At the encounter between the existing and the new, spatial boundaries have emerged as patios; sometimes long and deep or sometimes narrow and excavated between the platforms and embankments arisen with the intervention.
