Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is a regional center of excellence providing comprehensive cancer treatment services to Arizona and neighboring states. A 90,000-square-foot addition to the cancer clinic on the Banner Gateway Medical Center campus focuses on collaborative medicine with a conference center, resource library, counseling, alternative therapies, clinics, radiation therapy, infusion therapy and physician’s offices. The healing environment features landscaped courtyards, mountain views from patient treatment and waiting areas and improved patient access for repeat treatment visits. Renovations to 13,000 square feet of existing space created a processing/research lab and additional patient treatment areas. Schematic design documents were also developed for a 324,000-square-foot inpatient tower featuring 204 beds, 14 operating rooms, a 12-bed observation center, diagnostic imaging, pathology/lab, pharmacy, support services and a 1,050-car parking garage.
