Casa Maguey in the Center of Universe

The Aztecs cite Mexico as the center of the universe, the word Mexico comes from the Nahuatl Mexitli literally means: Navel Maguey, but hides a transcendent meaning and Cosmogonic, a maguey with leaves pointing to all directions and look to space. In this project, each of the elements that make up geometric concepts that respond to cover three main areas: Form, cosmogony and interior space. The study of pre-Hispanic structures has been the genesis of the design of this house, are not repeated forms, only reinterpreted in his latest contemporary context.The formal proposal from the House in the center of the universe is exciting and risky, there are three ruffles containing habitable space, which dominates the welfare and comfort. The House located in a ravine in Mexico City, consists of two volumes that are inclined, and represent a maguey facing the universe. To access the home you have to cross a barrier of wood with ridges that look like leaves of the maguey, inside a large courtyard and a lobby tucked you receive access to social or private area. The social area is in the small volume of access and private area on the volume that comes into the ravine, on one side there is a viewpoint with a daring cantilever of 20 m, is the only element that connects human beings with their own microcosm. House structure is determined by hybridization of steel, reinforced concrete and light covers. For the solution of the interior spaces, walls disappeared, so the atmosphere of different areas divided the sections. The interior decoration is very simple but elegant as the same design of the house. In the basement there is a pool with a unique viewpoint to the gorge from the water, that immerse causes a feeling of freedom and connection with our environment.
