Open-space offices building in Paris

This building is placed in Paris periphery and inserts itself in the urban weave of Malakoff city. It shows its metropoloitan scale and lets us read two contrasting images according to the circulation way on these rapid roads that surround it: opaque and vertical appearance on West direction, transparent and horizontal one on the East. The purified forms, the different proportion volumes and the binary utilisation of materials simplify the building reading for the driver. The the mouldings and façade details work comes from a particular attention carried to pedestrian perception.

The building is composed of two parallel slipped volumes, whose extremities have opaque and slender façades. They are conceived like monolitic steles, and are treated with venetian stucco in various gray shades and constellated with bright beacons that during the night converse with the bright signs that animate the arterial road. The slip of these two volumes, menaged by an empty joint, permits the creation of a little public square utilised like an entrance space to offices. The vertical and horizontal circulations are naturally illuminated on the chance of a transformation from open-space offices to closed ones.
