Stibbe, one of the renowned Dutch law firms, moved to a new building at the Zuidas, precisely tailored to their wishes and identity. The high-end interior, with a total floor area of 14,000 m2, hosts meeting spaces and more public functions as well as a variety of office spaces with a focus on working in teams. A functional and fluid design is wrapped around a spectacular atrium with a unique and inviting signature. Special details with focus on hospitality were developed for the lobby, the auditorium, the coffee bar, company restaurant and a library.
From the start of the design, the focus was on fluidity between spaces, exciting routing and the symbiosis between the interior elements and the building architecture. For the central atrium, Fokkema & Partners designed special acoustic panels, reaching the full height of the atrium. The pattern reflects the impressive steel structure of the building. Due to the addition of voids and open stairs, the visitors’ experience has become a journey through the building, during which the views of the central atrium are taken in from very different perspectives. Views over the park and the city are phenomenal and provide orientation. Combined with the high quality of the overall detailing and the balanced colour scheme inspired by the 50’s, this creates an interior that is both warm and comfortable as well as open and inspiring.
