“The Tunga Gallery was designed in a collaboration with the Brazilian artist, Tunga, as a very flexible art pavilion, to house the most diverse art works, with both permanent and temporary characters, of different scales and types, in a space unlike the traditional white cube. The natural terrain was preserved and the building was slightly lifted from the ground. The sloping topography generated the two main levels of the gallery, that are connected through stairs and ramps that are extended to the exterior, creating a big open balcony that surrounds the entire building. The pavilion is open to its context, with many access points, infinite ways of traveling through the different spaces, circulations that are also used to exhibit art, and multiple possible views of the art work it houses. At Tunga Gallery, each visitor creates its own experience.”
