Villa Van Esch

Villa Van Esch

Villa van Esch  is placed on a green plot, situated along a stately boulevard that connects the city of Tilburg to Goirle. The rooms of the house are divided over two distinct levels; one above and one below ground. The bedrooms are below ground and are lit by a seven meter high light well at the center of the house. Above ground the greenery of the garden flows through the transparent interior of the living areas.

The north side of the house is closed off by a long wall rendered in dark brick. The other facades are made with a glass curtain system. A second layer or “voile” of single-pane printed glass regulates privacy and also functions as a sun screen.

In compliance with the client’s wishes a more technical material pallet has been chosen for the surface finishing, with materials like chromed steel, anodized aluminum, clean concrete with rough board shuttering, high-performance double glazing etc. In the strive for a clean and minimal Architecture, the detailing has been done in such a way that all these materials connect directly to each other in their natural form.
