Once upon a time there was the old Renaissance handicraft shop ….or better, once upon a time there was the “squero”, the old Venetian yard! And it was a dockyard, the place used for manual work, the "perfectly finished" handicraft work.
An image that is naturally associated with Arte Veneziana, a company that is strongly rooted in the territory, pursuing and interpreting the highest values of the Venetian handicraft tradition, today projected onto the world.
Three generations of Zanin family have created an all-Italian excellence in the production of wonderful glass furnishing objects, telling a story, narrating a territory, a tradition through two key-concepts of the history of their own business: the culture of work through the education of new generations steeped in curiosity towards what is new attached to the pride for their roots and the respect for the environment, a fundamental value to develop a company creating well-being and protecting the territory, being part of a community means also preserving the territory.
Arte Veneziana is steeped in the great tradition of the masters of Venetian glassmaking and soon specialised in the reproduction of Venetian mirrors from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the period of maximum flourishing of Venetian glassmaking art to which Venetian furniture and art deco covered with mirrors were added in 1990. The idea of applying mirrors on furniture came to the young brothers Alessandro and Nicola Zanin who, at just eighteen years old, after learning all the processing phases entered the company bringing new energy and new points of view.
Guided by Alessandro and Nicola, who represent the modern expression of the Venetian incisory tradition, the temporal references expand: not just the exquisite retro taste borrowed from the Venetian eighteenth century, but a more European air and a leap forward of almost two centuries with a series of furniture inspired by the elegance of the art deco lines, a style that enchanted all the world during the first decades of the twentieth century.
Always dynamic and pursuing an elegance matching our times, the two brothers, Alessandro and Nicola, still put a stake on the future looking at contemporary trends and talking to a cosmopolitan and evolved public. This is how the Riflessivo collection was created thanks to the fantasy and the audacity of the Venetian designer Leo De Carlo, with an international background and with prestigious collaborations like with the Philip Starck Parisian study.
The Riflessivo furniture result from an extremely balanced encounter between solidity of the past and the sensitiveness of the contemporary: an immaterial “reflection” in which history, feelings, emotions, past and present forge forms conferring them an aura of future.
But Arte Veneziana does not end here and a professional experience begins with the architect Giovanni Luca Ferrari who chooses to be inspired by the masters of the 1920’s with some really astonishing “pieces”, defined as small architectures more than pieces of design.
For Arte Veneziana, glass is the material for excellence, coming from a glorious past and projected onto the future with a spirit respectful of the environment, ecological by vocation because it does not release polluting substances and it is recyclable.
And it is with the know-how and respect for the glass matter that the natural vocation for eco-friendliness consolidates and broadens in Arte Veneziana: the respect for the environment is a fundamental value to take account of in all the production phases in which the company is involved directly or indirectly. Tests and control of energetic consumption, reduction and zeroing of the production's polluting impact through the abolition of rejects and toxic agents, recycling, are all processes that are at the basis of the industrial activity of Arte Veneziana.
