The Blade House is a large new home on a tight suburban lot wedged between a heritage item and a heritage conservation area. The new 5 bedroom residence is a balance of maximising the site, realising sophisticated forms and contemporary functionality.Concrete blade forms, crisp detailing, with overlapping massing create a strong form to be seen in the round. A well-designed office layout was essential for a large corporate like RCL Foods. This award-winning Head Office was the answer. The office design process was a fantastic collaboration between interior designers, novospace, and architects, Elphick Proome. An extraordinary, ultra-modern, functional and truly African work environment was created for their 650 employees, by incorporating a wide variety of meeting and collaboration spaces, test kitchens, public cafe and shop, all arranged around a funky atrium. Team V Architecture has transformed the outdated headquarters of the Dutch insurance company a.s.r. in Utrecht into a contemporary work environment with lots of daylight, lofty atria and impressive interior gardens. The building was officially opened on 29 June 2016 by Minister of Finance Jeroen Dijsselbloem. The celebrations mark the end of a three-year renovation period, during which the building was continually in use. The appearance of the building has changed to an astonishing extent.
