On a dead-end residential street, this house interacts with its surroundings. In its green frame, the design is modest yet attractive thanks to the spectacular volume effect. The staggered floor makes a balancing act on the beam it supports. This load-bearing wall defines two living worlds within the living concept, with a covered parking space on one side and a covered access zone on the other. The wall guides the visitor to the front door. The wall just doesn't touch the ground floor volume, so that there is a direct connection between the front door and the covered car zone. A bicycle shed is hidden behind the closed wall of this carport.
The great openness of the facade gives the whole a friendly and inviting character. The window openings are not drawn at random. Their well-considered positioning is aligned with the surrounding greenery. They create sight lines on striking elements such as the trees in the landscaping or the overlying forest. The red window profiles frame this image as if it were living art. The newly planted trees not only have an aesthetic role, but also provide natural sun protection and create a fascinating play of shadows in the spaces that they protect from the sun.
The openness of the front facade finds its superlative form at the rear with an almost fully glazed ground floor and also richly glazed bedroom and bathroom. The corbelling of the staggered floor offers the comfort of a covered terrace.
