In 2011, Rodeca contributed to the building for operational services in Terneuzen. The building of more than 10,000 square meters is the base for the field service of the municipality of Terneuzen, the fire department Terneuzen and the ambulance service of ZorgSaam Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
In the design of the building, by architect Evert van Kampen, the themes that are important to the users come to the fore as 'vigilance', 'safety', 'transparency' and 'pride'. Behind the striking flamed façade of transparent building elements, there are many workspaces and offices with the spaces for equipment on the ground floor. In addition to the main building, large sheds have been built for the many municipal vehicles, various workshops, a car wash and storage of material such as road salt.
The building allows for closer cooperation between the various operational services. Because of the joint housing it is no longer necessary to work from several locations and spaces can be used more efficiently. In addition, knowledge and experience can be shared more easily.
