The railway yard of Porta Romana is one of Milan's urban promises. It stands as a hub of excellence where the urban regeneration of industrial properties sets an exemplary standard for all. The Foundation Prada, drawing visitors from around the world, contributes to this reputation, enhanced by the fame of OMA.
The future Olympic Village represents a challenge in establishing a renewed relationship between the natural and the artificial. The WIP project aligns with this context of transformation and renewal. With a minimalist aesthetic, it encompasses a commercial building of approximately 1,000 square meters constructed on a plot of about 1,700 square meters, in close proximity to the Symbiosis project.
Strategically positioned on the roundabout of Viale Ortles, the project enhances visibility, becoming a new point of orientation. Transparencies, glass features, and simple vertical paneling characterize this project, representing a new piece in the mosaic of a vibrant area.
The project does not aspire to be a new icon amid other prominent figures clamoring for attention on the urban stage. True to form, WIP serves the community, never sacrificing project quality but without the anxiety of seeking attention.
It is a patient endeavor to reorganize the territory, with a primary focus on restoring dignity to the place.
