This 12-panel artwork is bold and unique, with the split panel design allowing the background wall colour to come through and blend with the artwork. Pigment ink is printed directly onto MDF wood and each panel can be placed independently. The image and shapes are fully customizable, giving the designer an immense range of creativity.
Design Objective The objective is to create wall art that is unique, beautiful, sustainable, affordable and customizable. This artwork breaks the concept that wall space is just meant to be filled with what is convenient and instead insists that wall art is an integral part of interior design. It should blend seamlessly into the overarching concept of any space. Just as importantly, this design is not static. The designer can come up with almost any geometrical shape with an image of their choosing and we can create it for them.
Design and Technical Innovation The challenge lies in the medium. By choosing MDF as our medium, it provides maximum flexibility for us to create and print on all manner of shapes and it also fits with our ideals of sustainability by using a recycled wood source. What is truly innovative, is that our method can be used to create any size or shape of wall art, using any image. The designer’s imagination is the only limit.
