The painting metaphorically expresses idea of multilayeredness of being. The composition consists of various horizontal layers coming by the sides and going beyond the edges of the canvas into infinity. One layer is different from another and no one is similar to another. These variations are achieved by use of contrasting natural media (ground, clay, sand) and oil paints emphasizing the difference of textures and colors. Thus, these layers symbolize the diversity of our world, and being as a whole.
