Our BioFelt® Tile Backing System has been re-engineered to reduce its life cycle energy profile by 60%. This innovation reduces contributions to smog, global warming, acidification and a host of other environmental metrics. The improvements to environmental impacts from BioFelt and BioFelt 2.0 are significant in accordance with ISO 14040 standards. We have removed petroleum- based phthalates and substituted them for bio-based compounds, resulting in saving 63,000 liters of petroleum and avoided pouring 140,000 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere with this innovation in one year. We use PVC because the fabrics are easy to clean, last a long time, are hypo-allergenic and, they provide a beautiful alternative to other flooring types.
