Western Archrib Douglas Fir Glulam is an engineered structural timber product manufactured by bonding layers of dimensional lumber with structural adhesives. The lamination process enables the production of straight members as well as curved, arched, and tapered forms across a wide range of sizes. Designed for applications including floor and roof beams, headers, purlins, trusses, and arches, Douglas fir provides robust structural properties together with characteristic red and yellow tones and moderate outdoor durability.
As a mass timber product, Douglas Fir Glulam makes structural use of a renewable wood resource while retaining biogenic carbon within the timber for the period it remains in use. Its engineered construction allows large, high-capacity structural members to be created from laminated timber, while Western Archrib emphasises the product’s longevity as part of its material performance. FSC-certified material is also available through the manufacturer’s certified chain of custody.
Western Archrib’s manufacturing facilities participate in APA – Engineered Wood Systems quality assurance and are certified to manufacture glulam in accordance with CSA O122 in Canada and ANSI A190.1 in the United States. The company offers FSC Chain of Custody-certified products, certificate FSC-C020013, in accordance with FSC-STD-40-004.
