For centuries the carpet has been the humblest household object; regardless of its characterization as a luxury item, its main function is to give warmth to a room.
Bringing back this functionality, generating a pareidolia with the image of the grandparents, a mor-phology is created around a golden proportion polyhedral. Nevertheless, this geometry is not ex-posed completely, in that hidden perfection exists a sober and simple appearance: just as our eld-ers.
The carpet is made entirely in Andalusia, Spain and is self-produced by the studio Valentín Garal. Handmade, has a height of 16mm and density of 4,5kg/m2. It is a limited edition. Five pieces per color model, twelve models. A total of sixty pieces. These can also be manufactured together, to create a larger set for wider areas.
The color also becomes very important in this pareidolia. Desaturated and “old fashioned”, referring to the clothing color set of elders. In contrast, an strong and avant-gardemorphology.
A humble piece to represent a complex concept.
