JOINT – IN BETWEEN DESIGN E FUNCTIONALITY, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND TECHNOLOGY


In the last few decades the desire of improving the use of the outdoor spaces, such as gardens and terraces, furnishing and organizing them as much as an indoor space has become always more important, for both private and contract. The outdoor is now conceived as a real extensions of every kind of living area, pleasant, fully equipped and completely customizable. The parasol is the most practical and versatile solution to create interior environments but open-air, because it allows to create special spaces, completely designed and realized following concepts as usability but also aesthetic pleasure and harmony of forms and architectures.


Functionality and versatility have always been the main characteristics that Poggesi has always tried to reach, along with a constant technological research and a strong artisanal mark.


The ambition to stand out in its reference market has always pushed the company to invest in terms of craftsmanship, research for high quality raw materials and technological development. With this commitment in the occasion of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Poggesi discloses JOINT, the new model of cantilever umbrella designed by the architect Roberto Semprini. Thanks to an innovative, unique and original opening and closing system, JOINT can easily turns into a central pole parasol, hitting the target of the concept of versatility and harmonization of spaces. JOINT represents a new concept of design, an evolution in terms of technology and style born processing and studying the design of one of the most recognizable and important cantilever umbrellas of the Florentine company, King. Thanks to the incredible possibility to bring the arm in a totally vertical position, JOINT symbolizes the perfect synthesis between design and functionality, cutting-edge style and technology, exclusive raw materials and extraordinary craftsmanship.


TECHNICAL INFO

The umbrella, entirely made of aluminium, is equipped with a side winch to open and close the cloth and a posterior winch to pull up and down the arm of the parasol, unlike the traditional cantilever umbrellas that come with both the winches on the lateral side. This innovative and original mechanical placement is what allows to modify the nature of the product, turning it into a central designed element. As much as the other cantilever umbrellas, it’s always possible to adjust the cloth using the handle on the sliding rail and direct the arm by rotating it of 365 °. Once closed it’s perfectly vertical placed, reducing the overall dimensions to the minimum.
