pba presents Platform, a new design series for bathroom ambience.

Originally conceived to complete pba’s Programma 400 and intended mainly for hospital environments, Platform has been designed and developed to naturally fit into other environments as well, such as hotels, restaurants, offices, education and residential spaces.

To work within so many environments, the design language needed a perfect balance of visual simplicity, a touch of playfulness, and functionality.

Visually, we are left with sculptural objects pared down to their essential forms and functions; elements that become integral and highly considered details within their environment.

Brad Ascalon in collaboration with pba and the concept of Platform says: “It was immediately clear to us that pba, in taking the initiative to hire us as the company’s first American design consultancy, wanted to approach from a fresh perspective the problem of developing a line such as Programma 400. pba believed in our vision for the collection, and we believed then, as we do now, that their welcoming of our ideas was proof of a company that desires to offer its customers something special. It means that we’re selling more than mere commodities. We’re offering a small piece of ourselves. A company in any industry with this philosophy is the kind of company our studio truly loves working with.”

Francesca Masiero, Vice President pba, on the collaboration with Brad Ascalon: “Brad has a functional sensitivity. In his projects, form is the essence of rationality. The collaboration with Brad didn’t need many words of explanation. By identifying in its form the nature of the object, beauty and utility have naturally corresponded. This is the revolution: to have both, and above all, within health care institutions”.

Produced in nylon, the series includes different elements: soap dish, tumbler holder, wall toilet paper roll holder, spare toilet paper roll holder, toilet brush set, and comes in a wide variety of colours: white, biscuit, light yellow, yellow, light blue, blue, grey, green, red, black.

Platform finds its own collocation or can complete the original Programma 400 which consists of a line of bathroom accessories appointed to bring aesthetics also to health care institutions.
