When we design a space, we often only think about the visible items, focusing on which floor tiles, curtains or chairs will be the best for the room. However, the aspects we don’t see, the acoustics in the room, are forgotten all too often. Developed by Buzzispace and Buzzilabs, the RT‐60 app can measure the reverberation time in any room, and will then suggest the best products based on this. Using the BuzziBalloon (supplied) and a microphone, the application measures the reverberation time, and compiles the data in a graph. The app then shows you the best Buzzispace product for the room, and generates a simulation. Via the simulation tool, you can see (on your iPhone or iPad screen) how much the reverberation time can be reduced if a particular furniture item was actually placed in the room. Acoustics are often accompanied by complicated terminology and measuring equipment. Thanks to the RT‐60 app, everyone can get started quickly, in a simple yet scientifically supported manner. This app is a handy tool for interior designers, architects and dealers as well as private individuals who are renovating or building and furnishing their own spaces. The RT60‐app is completely free of charge. The application also comes with a digital instruction manual.
