Sumo is a collection of engineered hardwood flooring designed by us at Relative Space. The Obsidian colour is made through a two part process: smoking + metal oxide treatment. These processes affect the whole top layer of wood - unlike a stain that sits on top. There are two advantages to the processes: you can’t wear the colour off the wood, and it retains the natural colour variation of the wood.
