STUDIOS Architecture designed the new Paris headquarters for Ledger, a crypto-asset infrastructure provider, within a former telephone exchange in the Marais district. The base building was renovated by architecture and interior design studio Franklin Azzi and has achieved BREEAM Excellent, HQE Bâtiment Durable, Effinergie Rénovation, WiredScore, and WELL Core certifications.
Conceived as a “Crypto Temple,” the project positions the workplace as a cultural hub and community platform, expressing Ledger’s identity through a synthesis of technology, art, and nature.
Interior strategies integrating environmental performance
STUDIOS led the interior design, aligning the fit-out with the building’s broader sustainability framework. While the architectural envelope and core systems were outside the scope of work, the interior approach prioritized low-carbon material selection, operational efficiency, and indoor environmental quality. Low-carbon and recycled materials were specified for partitions, finishes, and custom furniture, while acoustic panels fabricated from recycled fibers contribute to occupant comfort and reduce material impact.
Modular and demountable components support disassembly and future reconfiguration, extending the lifecycle of the fit-out and limiting construction waste. Energy-efficient lighting systems, paired with controls and daylight-oriented planning, minimize operational energy demand within interior spaces.
Spatial identity and workplace program
The design establishes a layered spatial narrative, combining darker, technology-oriented atmospheres with planted patios and social areas. The reception introduces this contrast, pairing a subdued, tech-driven ambiance with an open courtyard setting.
Ledger’s Web3 ecosystem is embedded throughout the workplace, with curated NFT displays across floors. On the eighth level, the MVP bar references boutique hospitality environments and incorporates commissioned artwork by street artist LóReM. Amenities distributed from basement to rooftop include fitness and wellness spaces, games and music rooms, a Fab Lab, a family room, a recording studio, and a retail area, supporting a range of work and social functions.
The top-floor “Olympus” court operates as a multipurpose volume, accommodating coworking, hackathons, conferences, screenings, exhibitions, and large-scale events. Equipped with a professional control room, a four-meter LED screen, and a 9.1 L-Acoustics system, the space enables rapid functional transformation. Above, the “To the Moon” mezzanine provides informal meeting areas overlooking the main hall and Paris rooftops, while rooftop terraces extend the workplace outdoors.
Flexibility and organisational structure
Each floor is designed with a consistent spatial framework that includes open work areas, nano-kitchens, meeting rooms, and agile team zones. These spaces are tailored to neighborhoods serving different roles, such as developers, engineers, creatives, and support teams.
STUDIOS collaborated with Ledger to develop an intelligent work environment that emphasizes long-term flexibility and collaborative workspaces tailored to different profiles and work styles. The result is a range of working configurations that support individual needs. This hybrid model combines activity-based working with flexibility, allowing each person to manage their workspace within their designated neighborhood through the WoW'App, Ledger’s workplace application.
Dedicated onboarding spaces, collaborative hubs, and flexible event venues enhance long-term adaptability, allowing the headquarters to evolve with organizational and technological change.
