Yova Yager as Architects

Give plastic the second chance. Collaboration of ‘Alltrueeast’ restaurant and YOVA YAGER hospitality design studio.

From the “Kind Menu” to the food truck with a decorative front made of recycled plastic as a part of Yova Yager’s project for the restaurant ‘Alltrueeast’ in Kyiv.

YOVA YAGER hospitality design studio and the Kyiv restaurant ‘Alltrueeast’ take steps to consciousness and environmental conversation.

Nowadays brands care about the environment, follow the principles of sustainable development and implement meaningful, human oriented objects. For a restaurant it means waste sorting and using recyclable materials. When talking about design studio’s work it’s use of environmentally friendly materials and products made by local manufacturers, also search for tools to solve the problems the society faced.
The common initiative of Yova Yager and ‘Alltrueeast’ began with “Kind menu”breakfasts.
After launching the pop-up menu, created by the designer in collaboration with restaurant’s chefs, a half of money raised were given to the public organization “Ukraine without waste”.
It was followed by the site cleanup action, and finally, plastic lids collection. After a sufficient number was gathered, the Odessan company ‘Precious plastic Ukraine’ used it to decorate the bench located near the ‘Alltrueeast’ restaurant. Bits and pieces of the lids were turned into tables and panels, lining the ‘Alltrueeast’ van, which moves from one music and food festival to another.
This collaboration proves that recycled plastic can be turned into design objects. May recycling does not save the planet, but it definitely will draw attention to the existing problem and show all the possibilities of its solution using modern design.
