The proposal was for the house to provide an experience of sensations, comfort, relaxation, well-being and interaction.
Before the renovation, the apartment had compartmentalized environments and, therefore, smaller, as was the case of the kitchen. A wall separated the hallway to the bedrooms from the living room and there were two closed bedrooms. The office chose to eliminate the kitchen walls, repositioned the bathroom to the service area, removed the hallway wall and opened one of the bedrooms, integrating the living room, which became a tatami room.
The inspiration for the project came from the loft living concept, which emerged in the 1950s in New York, when artists began using commercial and industrial warehouses in the Soho neighborhood as a studio and home. To assume this concept, the architect created integrated and open spaces, with the aim of reflecting the contemporary model of life. In addition, this characteristic is directly related to the industrial style in which structures and infrastructure are left apparent.
Exhibition of concrete beams and materials with different textures, such as ceramic brick, demolition wood, straw and metalwork ensured a rustic touch to the decor. To provide warmth and comfort to the environments, the office used strong colors in certain plans, indirect lighting, art and vegetation.
At Archello we focus on the materialization of buildings. In the interior design, the furniture design aimed to maximize the use of spaces, to generate a feeling of spaciousness. The hanging bookcase, the dining room table and the side table mix structure with metal corners and demolition wood. The sideboard, rack and double bed mix demolition wood with braided natural straw work. In the kitchen, the option was for a clean and sober design, with straight lines and lead gray monochrome.
The apartment has a lot of wall art, such as photographs and engravings, as well as pieces of affective value, ceramic pieces, a mini-library of architecture, art and photography, pieces of tapestry and plants, which complete the environment in a beautiful way. outstanding and with a lot of personality.
The lighting project was worked especially with direct light, such as trails with spots, sconces and molding with LED strip on the benches. In the bedroom, the lamp with indirect light makes the environment more comfortable and in the tatami room, a wooden sconce creates a pleasant and welcoming space.
