The desire to have a functional apartment with great usability was the starting point for the Andrea Parreira Arquitetura office, run by architect Andrea Parreira to meet the needs of a family that wanted to completely change their house. With 390m², located in the Alto de Pinheiros neighborhood, in São Paulo, the property was completely renovated and gained a contemporary layout, integrated environments, home office to support work days at home and a fully equipped Home Theater.
room, pantry, Home Theater and dining room. For the pantry, which gained a gourmet space, the solution was to install a sliding door that hides it and facilitates day-to-day organization or if you receive friends. Natural wood was the material widely used in furniture and walls to bring coziness, elegance and timelessness. To give more personality to the property, the floor was worked in raw Roman travertine marble.
Another challenge was the proportion of the renovation, which had the plumbing, electrical, masonry, flooring and ceilings completely renovated. Lighting was a point of attention to highlight the owners' works of art and also bring the necessary welcome and well-being to the environments. The ceiling height was very low, requiring attention and solutions to install the air conditioning system, so the ceiling was lowered in its central area and an illuminated crown molding was placed in this space.
As the couple wanted an area that would serve as support for their work days at home, the proposal was to demolish the bathroom in the suite so that it could expand and create a large office.
