Set high up within the Al-Bidda Tower in Doha, Qatar, the competition brief called for corporate office spaces and conference facilities for one of the world’s leading sports foundations.
A ring of services, circulation spaces, waiting areas, storage and private offices were wrapped around the tower’s core, freeing up perimeter spaces for open plan offices, meeting spaces and a state of the art lecture theatre, while exploiting maximum ceiling heights and panoramic views of the bay below.
The less formal tone of the public areas was revisited in the President’s quarters, where dark sensual marbles and timbers, thick linens and carpets animate a number of spaces which were designed to portray the success of the foundation.
