BAURéaLS | Hospital General

BAURéaLS | General Hospital | Lyon, France

MICHEL RÉMON & ASSOCIÉS as Architects

Our project is the "PLUG" of a new Technical Platform with 28 operating rooms, an intensive care unit and an emergency department in an old hospital, to give it new blood. Here the "plug" is a new motor "connected" across the main facade opposite the entrance hall. We had already carried out the same "transplant" at the Edouard Herriot hospital, in central Lyon: The "PLUG" of the technical platform was then connected to the heart of the fabric of the pavilions of the hospital complex.

The project was drawn, composed, using the REVIT "tool: it was not drawn in plan but produced as a volumetric model. This model was not made of cardboard but virtual. The functions have been assembled directly in 3 dimensions, with their own spatiality, in their right place. The result of this organic composition thus directly becomes a body composed of its different members, directly expressed as a skin.

You can read each of the parts that make up the whole, just like on an anatomy board.

Like a LEGO.
