History meets modernism

Optik Bischofberger relies on visual stimuli…

Customers of BischofbergerOptik have plenty to discover in this beautiful historical half-timbered house. The sales area of 140 sqm is spread out across the ground floor in which customers can find sunglasses, children's glasses and corrective glasses, while the upper floor has sports glasses, the refraction and optometry areas.

The shop design concept stands out with its transparency. The façade is designed openly. The large, floor-depth shop windows offer passers-by and customers a view of the modern store with its attractive furnishings. The sunglasses are located right by the entrance. Glasses are presented in a rustic and yet modern setup in front of a natural brick wall: casually, on "smoked" glass shelves installed between room-high brass rods that almost seem to float. Below them, there is a black MDF sideboard with practical drawers. Consulting takes place at a solid oak standing table.

The solid checkout block is a distinctive feature. It is also made of light oak wood with a rear panel design of black MDF.

Two steps lead to the second level of the ground floor, where corrective lenses and the children's glasses area are located – also using glass shelves for presentation. The areas are structured by transparent curtain segments that are coloured to harmoniously merge into the interior design concept.

Consulting takes place at table units in light oak. Stylish bucket seats add the usual ease and transparency to this area. Large, black desk lamps in a classical design ensure effective lighting.

This level also offers a comfortable lounge area with high-pile carpets and comfortable brown leather chairs.

The colour and material concept of black and white, smoked glass, natural brick wall and brass accents together with the exposed oak half-timber structure produce a comfortable, warm overall appearance. The black slate-look floor adds a calm frame to the room.

The upper floor can be reached via a spiral stair also made of solid oak wood. An attractive waiting area and refraction rooms supplement the sports glasses offer there.

OptikBischofberger – a highlight and an eye-catcher in the area of shop design and architecture.
