The concept of `Black House´

In the midst of the thirties colonies were built for reliable party members-also in Krailing, an residential area in the southwest of Munich. The houses on the housing estate included a comparatively huge garden, as the self-sufficiency was conceptual very important. One of those so-called “Hundred-Reichsmark-Houses”- which weren’t bigger than seventy square meters at its core-, was radically remodeled by Peter Haimerl in order to coin atmosphere by producing more light and bounteousness in the inside. Also desirable was a little bit of a new composition wind.

In a first step the dwelling and its barn behind were summarized to one structure, which has been wrapped up with insulation and appareled with a black bitumen skin. Only the fronts are plastered and white coated. The bitumen skin which extends from the floor to the roof has solved the hidden eaves gutter, but longs for fussy performed detail according to the circuit points roof cupola, which should better be termed as light spires.

The interior produces an atmosphere, which makes oneself forget the narrowness of the old “Hundred-Reichsmark-House”. Additionally light boxes have been attached analog to the roof cupolas. The compendiums show that the inside and the outside are corresponding as a whole. The structure has not been fragmented into small rooms again. A smooth lawn grows around the house, the small square in front of the dwelling is asphaltic and coated with small paving stones. You will search unavailingly for flower beds. The consequence with which Peter Haimerl has adapted the house authorizes the worthy typus to flexible usability, amazing bounteousness and the whole neighborhood to an amusing allotment.
