Body Fit

What was the brief?
Body Fit is a luxurious and modern fitness studio that caters to the soul as well as the body with its lush wellness center and spa. The brief for the complete design was to define the space and create designated areas to fulfil the requirements of a state of the art gym.  Martinuzzi Interiors was commissioned to create a contemporary space with a very distinctive style and deluxe interiors, creating a fitness studio that not only appealed to its clients aesthetically but also provided functionality. What materials did you choose and why?
The primary and fundamental materials on which we based our concept were inspired by the existing industrial look of the building. Our aim was to create a modern interior design, using the contrast of the industrial elements and more luxurious materials such as eco-leather, smoked oak and granite stone. Two design options regarding space division, layout and color scheme/material selection were presented to the client.

The final design combines modern features which work harmoniously with the open layout. In the final design, different spaces were appointed with different color palettes.

The wellness/spa, reception, fitness area and changing rooms were given a neutral color palette, while the spinning room was designed in yellow, the weight room green and the physical therapy room orange. The juxtaposition of industrial architecture with modern furnishings and classic materials paints an elegant picture of functionality and opulence.

Each area of this project was intended to evoke different senses through the use of different colors and materials. The calming spaces such as the reception, restaurant and the wellness/spa are kept in a neutral, earthy color palette. A variety of materials were used throughout the design ranging from oak to leather, all the while harmoniously complementing each other.
