Campomaggi Boutique, a shop in via della Spiga

Pier Currà Architettura as Architects

The setting up for the Campomaggi boutique stems from the study of the origins of the brand, its peculiarities and its values. The project of the shop in Via della Spiga in Milan designs a “collection space”, a place that can host valuable objects and that loves to tell the story of what it exhibits. The idea of creating a “place of time” and the Cesena origins of the brand, the city of the first civic library in Europe, where the design ideas led to thinking of the boutique as the space of the “study”.

A cosy place where time expands, acquiring physicality, as if it were a perceivable value. The exhibitors of the boutique recreate the geometry of the parapets of the Malatestiana library in Cesena. The inlays of the wall furnishings recall the “trompe-l’oeil of Federico da Montefeltro’s studiolo urbinate” and again, preserved in the material and in the implementation, the grilles of the castle of Teodorano become the supports for small leather goods.

The result is a space full of underlying meanings, which unconsciously leads the visitor to immerse themselves in a reality steeped in references and suggestions, in which to discover step by step the peculiarities of each single product on display.
