Casa Tobita is a vacation house located on the eastern shore of Lago Ranco, in the south of Chile.
The house is a pavilion that levitates above the ground with a central break in order to conquer the terrain and differentiate the program.
The modular pavilion takes into consideration Chile's standardized material sizing, decreasing construction period while maintaining spatial quality.
The program and energetic efficiency respond to three different uses dependent on the occupation: the core family, extended family and visitors.
The northern facade holds lake and mountain views towards the Illahuape Peninsula while southern facade is sheltered from the main road and wind exposure.
The roof is an independent element as to maintain the thermal mass of the house and buffer the intensive rainfall present in the Region.
