The renovation of the Castelo Apartment begins with a rigorous spatial reconfiguration that prioritizes the integration of social areas and the fluidity of circulation, meeting the residents' desire for a laid-back style with industrial touches that remains cozy. The freedom to demolish and construct new masonry allowed for a program that connects the living room, dining room, and kitchen, while strategic interventions—such as closing the service door and implementing a new roof with zenithal lighting—transform the incidence of natural light and enhance the amplitude of the gathering spaces.
The project's materiality is defined by a careful balance between the coolness of contemporary textures and the warmth of natural elements. In the social and service areas, Cemento Grigio porcelain tiles establish a neutral and urban base, creating a tactile and visual contrast with the wood laminate flooring that warms the private quarters. The color palette prioritizes neutral tones such as white, black, and gray, punctuated by rich textures like the white brick cladding in the living room and kitchen, and the use of natural stones, exemplified by the São Gabriel Black Granite and White Marble countertops.
The apartment's distinguishing feature lies in the articulation of the outdoor area and the gourmet space, designed as flexible and sophisticated leisure refuges. An elevated wooden deck organizes the space to house a stone-clad SPA, while the translucent roofing, associated with a green modular Grim Grid ceiling, filters light in a scenic manner and creates a striking visual identity. Aesthetic continuity is reinforced by green painted tiles and masonry benches with stone backrests, consolidating an atmosphere of freshness and conviviality that dialogues with the proposed vegetation.
Millwork detailing and lighting act as the finishing elements of this architectural narrative. The use of MDF in patterns such as Freijó Puro and Cinza Cobalto confers functional elegance to the cabinets and the rack with slatted doors, designed to conceal equipment and organize the space. The lighting, composed of recessed linear LED profiles and illuminated coves, sculpts the volumetry of the ceilings and highlights the chosen textures, resulting in a home that harmonizes the robustness of industrial references with essential domestic comfort.
