We transformed a local master's residence, situated amidst lush green tea plantations, into a private lodge with a focus on the locally produced tea. The renovation concept aimed to accentuate the original architecture by removing unnecessary elements and decorations, such as transoms and furnishings.
The spacious Japanese-style room, spanning 23 tatami mats, was designed with shoji screens on the south porch to allow gentle light to enter, creating a serene atmosphere. The lighting was thoughtfully selected to evoke a solemn ambiance. In the living room and bedroom, modern furniture, lighting, and solid wood flooring were incorporated while retaining the Japanese essence, resulting in an interior that is both sleek and cozy.
The Japanese garden viewed from the porch provides a tranquil setting that changes with the seasons, featuring sand walls, wood textures, and the fragrance of local specialty tea leaves burning in the tea incense burner. The overall effect is a peaceful and relaxing environment
