“Tailor-made” store
This project is the result of a multidisciplinary group work.
We designed the showroom for Italian furniture store COMO. The site was originally a 70´s abandoned residence, so we tried to maintain the original structure and make the rest of the adaptations with the use of different materials and textures.
Thinking about the customers of this store (young, stylish business-men) we came up with the concept of the store. A “tailor-made” store made with artisan crafts. We designed spaces worthy of the furniture and accessories in the store. Every detail in the store has and elaborate amount of work.
The façade is built-up with hand-cut pieces of fabric that we cut ourselves. The wall is made up of hundreds of hand-cut little pieces of paper, umbrella fabric, mosquito net, and recycled promotional banners. All hung in the wall one by one. The columns are united with a handmade net of lace. An artist fabricated the tables.
