The present project concerns the rehabilitation of a building located at Rua Sacadura Cabral, nos. 3 and 11, within the União das Freguesias de Viana do Castelo. The proposed intervention provides for the installation of a commercial, service and/or food‑and‑beverage establishment on the ground floor, as well as the creation of two residential units on the upper storeys.

The building results from the amalgamation of two pre‑existing constructions, carried out as part of a major refurbishment undertaken in the 1980s, with the aim of adapting the property for exclusive use as office space. It should be noted that one of the original buildings had already undergone a previous intervention in the late 1970s.

At present, the property forms part of the consolidated urban fabric of the historic centre of Viana do Castelo, standing as a representative example of the architectural typology characteristic of this urban context. The rehabilitation proposal seeks to preserve and enhance the building’s defining architectural elements while ensuring its functional adequacy to contemporary requirements, both in residential and commercial use.
