This office building is next to the Ministry of Social Development, built before by Undurraga Devés Architects. Also, in the same block stands Santa Ana’s Church, historic building that defines the volumetry of both buildings.
With this on our mind, we thought that rather than doing a similar and harmonious façade with the existing building, it was better to make it exactly the same.
We contacted Undurraga Devés Architects, who were very kind to let us their façade details, in order to have a unitary front into the North-South Highway.
The access for both buildings are located in the short ends, one by Cathedral Street and the other one by Santo Domingo Street, so it is easy to identify them. This is different from the west, from where it appears to be just one institutional building.
