In an era where workspaces are evolving into vibrant centres of innovation and collaboration, Elite Chambers is birthed to bring a tide of freshness into workplace design. To feel inspired and ignite the flame of passion for work environments, Shreesh Design Studio has designed this headquarters where the greys and whites spark harmony. Doused in the reins of monochrome, this office space draws inspiration from something extraordinary. For a profession that deals with the intrinsic nature of numbers and logistics, Shreesh Design Studio has undoubtedly put together a space that fosters growth and a rooted involvement.
Located in a commercial setting of Rajkot, Gujarat, the 2400 sq. ft. space is a confluence of technicality and creativity, it being the headquarters of chartered accountancy and law for six professionals. A palette that shows the depth and ingenuity of the materials paired with a light that is cast on it. The monochromatic selection gives away an undertone of rare optimism and a type of peaceful quietness.
The floor is separated wisely for staff members that form the dynamic team, along with individual and private cabins for the partners, a mandir, two storage rooms scattered across the floor and a pantry. Apart from the designated cabins, there are no planned partitions to take over the rest of the floor, making it much easier to convert working zones into discussion areas.
The undeniable hero element here is the language of curves blanketed upon the entire floor, assuming a shape like that of a wave. A spell enchanted, it shuns away the conventional approach of designating spaces and gives a relatively smooth edge to the design of workspaces. Regarding the preferences, one of the main challenges the design studio faced was to consider the ideologies and likings of every partner who would be sharing a space here.
Upon entering through the main door, one is welcomed by a reception and waiting area that radiates warmth. The passage, laid with white tiles, leads to seating that follows a similar colour palette, creating a sense of unity. The circulation track of the passage is lined with wood, adding another layer of warmth and further enhancing the sense of harmony. This subtle design element clearly delineates the passage from the working zone, contributing to the overall cohesion of the space.
The cabin partitions are a wondrous treat to the sight. Filled with newness, curiosity and a general air of wonderment, they are cladded with rough Italian marble, giving off an impression of textured waves, contradicting the smooth finish that the tiles display in the flooring. The cabins are interconnected through a visual sync through a piece of partition cut out in the shape of a curve. It maintains a tone of consistency, making the place feel twice as bright. Apart from the meeting table and a small seating area, the cabins have a nook or a corner to retrieve and relax. There is a greyish tint that engulfs the cabin’s environment as the light gently cascades inside, filling the shell with unfiltered positivity.
The custom-crafted tables have an affinity of curves in their ribbed patterned table inlay and a curved leg for support. The sofa has a curvilinear surface, too, further nudging the design of Elite chambers to the direction of oneness. The display pieces and storage in all the cabins are also given a similar treatment of refined finish that blends with the cut-out waves. While the walls are layered with lightly patterned wallpaper and ceiling in pure white paint, the flooring of all the cabins is observed in wood, light in temperament to accommodate the slightly darker veneer on display.
Outside the cabins, the working zones exude a serene aura, where the clean and crisp white of the walls and the tabletop seem to almost merge. The occasional interaction with potted saplings feels like a serene drama of pop colour, further accentuating the tranquillity that seems to have taken home in the space. With sophistication as the guiding principle, Elite Chambers proves that substantial change in design can upgrade a work environment to a work haven.
