EFI Studio designed the EMA Partners office as a warm, airy and contemporary workplace in Delhi NCR, India. Conceived for a global executive search and leadership advisory firm, the office transformation reimagines an existing workspace into an environment that feels both modern and enduring.
Located in the bustling business hub of Gurugram, the 1,200 sq ft office was designed to reflect EMA Partners’ professional ethos while creating a more open, efficient and welcoming work environment. The brief called for a spatial language that would support seamless communication, collaboration and privacy across different levels of hierarchy. EFI Studio responded with a planning strategy that balances open work zones, enclosed cabins and meeting spaces, allowing the workplace to function with clarity and ease.
The design journey begins with a compact waiting area that opens into a larger workstation zone, where expansive views of the city skyline become an integral part of the spatial experience. Natural light, openness and visual connection to the outdoors help create a positive work atmosphere, contributing to employee wellbeing and productivity. The open workstation area acts as the heart of the office, connecting various cabins and collaborative zones while maintaining a sense of transparency and accessibility.
Materiality plays a key role in shaping the identity of the space. Natural wooden finishes bring warmth, permanence and a sense of timelessness to the interiors, while bold yet tranquil shades of blue echo the brand identity of EMA Partners. This palette creates a refined balance between contemporary expression and classic restraint, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to both tradition and innovation.
The private cabins and meeting areas are treated with wooden surfaces and patterned acoustic elements, ensuring visual continuity while providing the necessary privacy for focused discussions, conference calls and leadership meetings. This careful balance between collaborative openness and acoustic separation allows the office to support multiple modes of working within a compact footprint.
Lighting is used as both a functional and symbolic design element. A continuous linear ceiling feature runs through the common areas, visually connecting the workspace and reinforcing a sense of direction, commitment and continuity. The lighting strategy adds clarity to the plan while creating a welcoming and inspirational atmosphere for employees, clients and visitors.
The transformed EMA Partners office successfully brings together aesthetics, functionality and brand representation. Through its thoughtful planning, refined material palette and attention to atmosphere, EFI Studio has created a workplace that supports productivity, communication and professional engagement while leaving a lasting impression on all who enter.
