A white cube connects two old properties.
In a very exposed location, the Protestant parish hall was to be expanded to include a new parish office. The interior of the existing building was to be reorganized.
This in itself small building task turned out to be extremely difficult, since the small new building had to combine the entire ensemble of church and parish hall in terms of design and, moreover, that small parish office would completely redefine the public perception of the Protestant church in Pöcking. After a very open, grassroots discussion process with the entire ev. community of Pöcking, the realized designs were finally approved.
The most striking feature is a metal canopy, which in inverse type only reveals what is inside the building when the sun is shining. This quote alludes to the elementary founding history of the Lutheran Church, the printed word, the translated Bible, and the question of whether the understanding of the Holy Scriptures should be comprehensible to everyone. Specially designed wooden windows communicate with the viewer, represent the theological reference of this public building and also take up the special CI of the ev. community Pöcking.
The great acceptance of the concept by the population justifies the lengthy search for design and the meticulous attention to detail.
