Hot Design Folks as Designers

The concept aimed to go beyond merely offering a dining experience; our goal was to celebrate life's fundamental aspects: cooking, fire, flavors, and companionship. We envisioned a space where each dish pays homage to the bountiful gifts of the earth, all set against the charming backdrop of One Holland Village in Singapore.

Asado by Bedrock is the ideal destination for groups of people to reunite in celebration, as traditionally, Asado is a festival of friendship and food. The experience of visiting the restaurant is similar to going to a friend's garden for an Asado fiesta. It's relaxed, slow-paced, welcoming and colloquial. This is the destination for friends, family and colleagues to catch up, converse, and laugh out loud. It feels earthy, atmospheric, and grounding. This restaurant is filled with joy and warmth.

The great asador - the grill master - puts plenty of dedication and pride into his craft, from preparation of the coal to presentation of mouth-watering, palate-pleasing, soul-satisfying flame-grilled fare. This craft of the grill is the very pulse of this eatery and essential to the Asado way of life.

Open to the exterior through a set of floor-to-ceiling windows, the entire interior of the restaurant can be admired from the outside. Its design pays homage to the Quebracho Tree of Argentina, where its wood is traditionally used as coal for Asado flame grilling. The interior colour palette is a beautiful blend of rich, earthy tones that mimic the spectrum of tans and browns found in the sapwood and heartwood layers of Quebracho. From tables, to seating, to millworks, to lighting decor, various wood cuts are crafted into the interior, showcasing unique grains & textures, adding warmth and character to the space. The timber exudes warmth, tempting you to reach out and run your fingers over its inviting texture. But there's more to the design than just wood. Zinc elements are crafted into the interior to provide a cool contrast to the timber's warmth and add an extra layer of detail to the interior. This accent metal is found in countertops and cabinetry, adding a touch of sophistication to the space. At last, let’s not forget the "rammed earth" textured walls that craft an enchanting ambiance. Our partnership with Clayworks of London to create this custom material reflects our dedication to impeccable craftsmanship and innovative design.

The wood-fired oven and grills of the open kitchen take the center-stage of the interior. Seen from every corner of the restaurant with dancing flames and flying sparks, it is the true heart of the restaurant. This open kitchen also provides an opportunity to play with lines, accentuating the layout perspective. As the centerpiece, it serves as the starting point for the converging lines, inviting the visitor to visually follow the spatial arrangement and ultimately discover a partially secluded dining area. Delineated by a metal mesh curtain, it offers a cozy setting for exclusive occasions. Here, intricate touches abound, including a handcrafted leather masterpiece from Balinese craftsmen and a remarkable brass pendant light designed by Paola Navone.

The Fireplace By Bedrock epitomizes our studio's dedication to crafting visually striking environments imbued with compelling narratives, beckoning you to embark on an unparalleled sensory voyage.
