FLYING WHALES

Figurr Architects Collective and FLYING WHALES are proud to announce a strategic partnership to develop the FLYING CARE solution for communities in Northern Quebec and across Canada.

The work will begin in Northern Quebec and extend nationally as the partners assess where FLYING CARE could complement existing healthcare delivery in regions shaped by distance, climate, infrastructure, and limited access to specialized services.

Figurr will work with FLYING WHALES to develop the Canadian business plan, identify priority use cases, and support market development in Quebec and across Canada. The firm’s experience in complex aviation environments and collaboration with Indigenous communities will help ground the work in local conditions, health systems, culture, and community priorities.

“FLYING CARE asks a compelling question: how can healthcare infrastructure reach communities when distance and limited ground access are major constraints? This partnership brings together complementary expertise to explore a practical Canadian response.”

FLYING WHALES

FLYING WHALES is a Franco-Quebecer aeronautical company dedicated to the design, certification and production of the LCA60T, a 200-metre rigid airship designed to carry up to 60 tonnes. Designed for extreme cold temperatures, its hovering load-transfer capability is intended to move heavy or oversized cargo without requiring heavy ground infrastructure.

FLYING WHALES plans final assembly lines in France, Quebec, and Asia. FLYING CARE adapts the LCA60T as a modular, self-sufficient mobile hospital intended to support recurring preventive, diagnostic, and curative services in isolated areas. The concept remains in development as we study its operating model, architecture, medical systems, modularity, and resilience.

“Canada’s geography makes it a natural setting to explore FLYING CARE. Our partnership with Figurr will help us adapt to Canadian realities and deliver long-lasting value.”

— VINCENT GUIBOUT, CEO, FLYING WHALES QUEBEC

FLYING CARE aims to complement existing health systems by bringing adaptable clinical capacity closer to communities where distance, infrastructure, and climate can limit access to care. Work in Northern Quebec will help shape a responsible Canadian path grounded in local needs, collaboration, and long-term service continuity.
