DEDRAFT have recently completed the design and fit-out of a new FORM Lagree studio, located in Queensway, London W2. At 300sq.m this state-of-the-art facility offers a groundbreaking workout method that seamlessly integrates the best elements of Pilates and strength training, originally developed in Los Angeles.
The studio’s design draws inspiration from the natural curves of the human body, achieving an aesthetic equilibrium that harmonises masculine and feminine elements. This unique approach creates a one-of-a-kind fitness environment. A thoughtfully curated palette of muted, calming tones is complemented by tactile natural materials such as oak, travertine, and bronze, guiding users on a serene journey from the entrance to the workout space.
At street level, the studio boasts a subtle yet striking presence, enhanced by internally lit signage and a half-arch that beckons visitors to embark on their wellness journey. Descending the elegantly refurbished off-white steel staircase, clients are welcomed into a communal foyer that sets a tranquil tone. Here, soft, contrasting wall finishes are harmonised with warm oak drapes, creating an inviting backdrop for the retail section. A grand oak door and sidelight provide a glimpse of the workout studio opposite, helping to acclimatise clients to the spatial layout. The consistent use of natural oak, muted porcelain flooring, and dark bronze accents throughout the foyer promotes relaxation and furnished the luxurious changing facilities, which continue the naturally calming theme highlighted by half-arched openings that delineate specific spaces.
The Lagree studio itself presents a more intimate ambiance, featuring backlit arched mirrors and a double wall datum that reduces the height for a more human-centric feel. Low-level scalloped wall panels introduce additional texture and rhythm forming a backdrop for the complexity of the Pilates machines.
Capturing the vibrant spirit of Los Angeles, the studio is equipped with 12 cutting-edge Lagree machines and includes a thoughtfully organised retail space that showcases exclusive wellness brands bridging the gap between LA and London. Every detail has been meticulously designed to deliver a premier fitness experience that emphasises warmth, wellness, and innovative training, establishing FORM among the best fitness studios worldwide.
