The depth of the dwelling leads to a partition of the spaces in bands, generating a series of parallel storage columns, structuring the rooms and allowing views and light to pass through. The existing courtyard at the end of the plot has been transformed into a generously glazed patio around which the quieter rooms and the living room open.
Daylight is filtered by a silk and polyester veil suspended from a rail between the lined IPN and the carpentry, a changing and dynamic element bringing softness and privacy to the rooms. The consequent load bearings of the opening of the facade are embedded in the storage columns, freeing up the space.
The outbuilding built in the 80s at the back of the plot, too restrictive to be reused, was demolished and replaced by a more generous timber frame extension, welcoming the new master bedroom and completing the composition of the patio. In summer, the layout of the rooms in strips oriented in the direction of the depth, offers through spaces, allowing the circulation of fresh air between the shaded patio in the heart of the block and the street.
