The layout provides for the maintenance of the original subdivision on two levels, assigning the “public” functions of the house to the ground floor (living room, kitchen, bathroom and external porch), delegating the intimate and private ones (bedroom, study and bathroom) to the upper floor.

The connection between the two levels takes place through a newly built staircase whose central but asymmetrical position has been designed to optimize the space and flows of the two levels. The cut of the staircase is emphasized by the double height, by the alternation of materials, solids and voids, lights and shadows.
The old recovered bricks and the “raw” materials are combined with a contemporary and minimal design, in a succession of contrasts and harmonies.
